MR. JOHN BURTT, FCI PRESIDENT

A US Navy veteran with two deployments to Vietnam aboard a navy destroyer during the Vietnam War, John Burtt is retired from the Riverside Police Dept after serving 26.5 years as a police detective including 18 years as a SWAT Team marksman. He also has more than a decade of experience as a fifty caliber competitor and is a current member with the Fifty Caliber Shooters Assn., Inc. (FCSA). During his tenure with FCSA he has served in elected positions as an officer including Vice President and member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Burtt is a graduate of San Bernardino Valley College with an AA Degree in Police Science and a graduate of California State College, San Bernardino with a BA degree in Sociology. During his tenure with the Riverside Police Dept, Det. Burtt completed proscribed training courses in over 100 law enforcement related schools including the FBI Special Weapons and Tactics School at the FBI Training Academy located in Quantico, VA.

Mr. Burtt is a Life Member of the National Rifle Assn. (NRA), an officer in the Oklahoma Rifle Assn (ORA) and a former member of the California Rifle & Pistol Assn. (CRPA). He is the founder and has for the past five (5) years, served as the Chairman of the Fifty Caliber Institute.
